Gasherbrum II Expedition Itinerary

Gasherbrum II (8,034m) is the 13th-highest peak in the world. It is located in the second-highest mountain range in the world which is known as the Karakoram. On 7th July 1956, three Austrians got successful in climbGasherbrum II, standing at an impressive altitude of 8,034 meters, proudly claims the rank of the 13th-highest peak on our planet. Nestled within the renowned Karakoram, the second-highest mountain range globally, this majestic mountain presents a formidable challenge to any adventurer.

  • Day 1: Arrive in Islamabad, transfer to hotel
  • Day 2: Fly to Skardu / Chilas
    • a) Fly to Skardu by PK 451 (Flight subject to weather). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for overnight.
    • b) In case of flight cancellation (11-12 hrs), drive by coach to Chilas (480 km) on Karakoram Highway. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 3: Rest day in Skardu or drive to Skardu
    • a) Day free at Skardu.
    • b) If driving, complete road journey (08–09 hrs) to Skardu (275 km). En-route, enjoy views of Nanga Parbat (8125m) at the junction of Indus River and its rapids. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 4: Drive to Askoli (3000m) by jeep (6-7 hrs). Overnight in tent at Askoli.
  • Day 5: Trek to Jhola camp (3200m), 2-3 hours walk across wasteland and Biafo Glacier. Overnight in tent at Jhola.
  • Day 6: Trek to Paiju (3600m), 5-6 hours walk. Overnight in tent at Paiju.
  • Day 7: Rest day in Paiju (3600m) for local exploration and porters' needs. Overnight in tent.
  • Day 8: Trek to Urdokas (4200m), 7-8 hours walk on Baltoro Glacier. Overnight in tent at Urdokas.
  • Day 9: Trek to Goro II (4500m), 5-6 hours walk across glacier. Overnight in tent at Goro II.
  • Day 10: Trek to Shaqring (Shama) (4800m), 4-5 hours walk. Lunch at Concordia. Overnight in tent at Shaqring.
  • Day 11: Trek to Base Camp (5100m), 2-3 hours walk. Overnight at Base Camp.
  • Day 12-44: Climbing period (30 days)
    • 1st camp at 6000m (approx.)
    • 2nd camp at 6500m (approx.)
    • 3rd camp at 7300m (approx.)
    • Summit at 8035m
  • Day 45-48: Return trek to Askoli via same route.
  • Day 49: Drive back to Skardu, overnight at hotel.
  • Day 50: Fly to Islamabad by PK 452.
  • Day 51: Debriefing in Islamabad at Ministry of Tourism.
  • Day 52: Transfer to airport for your onward destination. Service End.
  • Comprehensive airport pickup and drop-off services.
  • Round-trip airfare between Islamabad and Skardu.
  • Transportation, including briefings, debriefings, and sightseeing.
  • Transportation between Skardu, Askoli, Hushe, and Skardu.
  • Three nights of accommodation in Islamabad, featuring twin-bed rooms with bed and breakfast provided.
  • Three nights of full board accommodation in a Skardu hotel.
  • Two nights of full board accommodation in a Chilas hotel.
  • Coverage for local staff, encompassing wages, insurance, food, and equipment.
  • Support from low porters to transport expedition and trekking equipment, as well as food supplies.
  • Allowance for 75 kg of equipment per climbing member on the ascent.
  • Allowance for 50 kg of equipment per climbing member on the descent.
  • Provision of all trekking and base camp meals.
  • Supply of comfortable member tents, mess tents, kitchen tents, storage tents, office tents, shower tents, toilet tents, tables, chairs, and kitchen utensils.
  • Assistance with reconfirming international flight tickets.
  • Coverage of all camping fees, road taxes, and bridge crossing fees.
  • Supply of low porters' equipment.
  • Documentation and climbing permit.
